Elliot’s Craft Pizza and Grill is a gourmet takeaway, who use fresh, organic and locally sourced ingredients to craft perfect pizzas, burgers and more. It is situated on Oldham Road, and is quite possibly the best takeaway pizza I have ever had. They don’t do delivery, so you will have to make the journey to Ripponden, in order to try their delicious food. But it is 100 percent worth the drive. If you don’t live close enough to make the trip, there and back, before it gets cold, you can take your food into the pub next door, the Last Post.
I decided to go for a pizza on their special’s menu, it had only been released the day before. However, they did inform me that it was going to eventually be added to their main menu, which is great, because it was honestly the best pizza I have ever had.
chargrilled onglet steak, caramelised onions, mushrooms, taleggio cheese and truffle oil
My pizza came with chargrilled onglet steak, caramelised onions, mushrooms, taleggio cheese and truffle oil, priced at only £13. Some people may think that this is expensive for a takeaway pizza, however the steak is cooked to order (rare), unless you ask for it cooked more, then sliced and added to the pizza once it is cooked. The steak is a great cut, which just melted in the mouth and all the other ingredients; mushrooms, onions and truffle oil, married together. Making it the perfect pizza topping combination. You really won’t be disappointed.
My friend ordered a NYC Classico pizza which came with parmesan, fresh basil, olive oil & chilli flakes, priced at £7. Which is an amazing price for the quality and size of the pizza you get. A great, tasty, yet simple pizza. We also opted for some sweet potato fries (£3) and a pot of their blue cheese mayo (£1) which had chucks of blue cheese mixed in and was perfect with the fries. It was the perfect takeaway for a Friday night.
Why not head to Elliot’s this weekend and treat yourself, you won’t regret it! I would make sure you call up and order it earlier and just say a time you wish to collect it, as sometimes there can be over an hour wait when they are busy! But 100% worth the wait.
