The Fox, Menston’s Festive Menu ♥ (invited)

Day 5 of blogmas is a review of The Fox’s Christmas Menu. I was lucky enough to be invited along to The Fox’s festive menu launch. Where I got to indulge in 3 courses and a Sipsmith Bramble cocktail.

The Fox is a premium pub/restaurant, situated in Menston, serving up pub food, cocktails, real ales and that great Yorkshire service. The evening was lovely and really got me into the Christmas Spirit!

There was a great selection on their festive menu with about 5 options per course. For starter I went for the Creamy Garlic Mushrooms on toasted sourdough topped with black sticks blue cheese. This was the perfect start to my meal. I am a huge garlic mushroom fan and these were great.

My dad went for the Duck liver and port parfait served with toasted walnut and raisin bread and a spiced fruit and sloe gin chutney. The parfait was smooth and rich but there was no where near enough bread!

Now for the main event, main course. My dad went for the Roasted Turkey with beef dripping roasted potatoes, a honey mustard duvet and pork and clementine stuffing. Served with red wine gravy and bread sauce. He said that the meat was tender and went perfectly with the stuffing, the only thing not needed was the bread sauce.

I opted for the Maple pork belly and pig cheek on Dijon chive mash, cavolo nero, crisp prosciutto and a red wine and sage jus. I decided not to go with the traditional turkey dinner as I don’t want to be sick of it by Christmas day! This was amazing, I could eat the pigs cheek again and again.

Both these dishes were served with Brussel sprouts and honey roasted parsnips and carrots – Sensational!

Now for desserts – Yummy! I went for the Blackcurrant mousse on a biscuit base, served with crushed mango and fresh strawberries. This was one of their vegan options, it was light, refreshing and I would highly reccomend this dish.

Shock, my dad went for the Apple and plum crumble topped with a demerara sugar crumb, served with custard! This barely touched the sides and he said it was his fav dish of the eve!

It was only £25.95 for the three course classic Festive menu, which I think is extremely reasonable for a meal at this time of the year.

Or you can indulge in their Four Course Festive Menu, with a glass of prosecco on arrival, premium dishes and luxury truffles to finish for £32.95

Finally, for an extra £15 upgrade to their 5 course special festive menu, with a glass of Moet, rustic bread and olives, premium dishes and a cocktail.

Check out their menus and book online here –

I hope you enjoyed day 5 of blogmas, watch out for more festive posts supporting local businesses and more.

Make sure you head to The Fox this Christmas!!

Christmas Love, Mackenzie x
